About Me

Hello, my name is Sara Miller. I am married with three teenage children (one in college) and currently live in the tiny hamlet of Prinsburg, Minnesota. In addition to making jewelry, I sing at church, teach piano lessons, decorate weddings, and sell my beauty products to various local outlets. Since I was a child I have loved colors and working with my hands to create things. I consider my art an expression of God’s creation and have always felt drawn to this form of creativity. I have knitted, cross-stitched, made candles, arranged flowers, made soaps and lip balms (which I still do). I enjoyed all these things, but had not found them soul-satisfying until I took up jewelry four years ago.

My passion for making jewelry began at my local workout center (of all places!); when one of the regulars brought back a funky ankle bracelet thingy from Hawaii. It went around her toe, up the top of her foot and around her ankle. It was so unusual, I thought I would try my hand at making one. Off to the local craft store I went to buy beads. Before I knew it, the beading bug had bit me. I was soon taking orders right and left for these ankle things! Soon after, the ladies were asking for matching earrings and an occasional necklace. Well, I got right to work learning how to use crimp beads and what materials were the best for which type of bead and before you know it, my addiction was in full-blown mode.

I have been telling friends for years that my dream would be to be a back-up singer for a famous person so that I could wear sequins every day. While I haven’t quite realized my dream yet (for now anyway), I do get to work with sparkly, colorful beads on a daily basis and that seems to satisfy me. I have been so unbelievably blessed through this business. I have met many wonderful customers (I call most of them friends!)in the last four years, and have been able to use my hands to create beauty and art that so many other people appreciate. It truly warms my heart to hear that my customers wear their jewelry all the time and receive compliments when they wear it. There is no greater satisfaction for me as an artist. My goal is to grow as an artist by always learning new techniques and incorporating those into my designs.

Building this business has been a huge leap of faith for me, but it has been rewarding. I have been encouraged by many of you to delve further into something that I am wholly passionate about. In turn, I would like to encourage others out there with hidden talents and passions to take that first step—make something, volunteer, grow a garden, whatever opens your heart and soul to the possibilities and adventure life has for YOU!
